Youtube can be a strange, strange place.

It’s like the hinterlands; the place where good ideas go to die, and anyone with a webcam and a dream of stardom can believe they can make it big. Rebecca Black proved that. Justin Bieber proved that too.

Scratch that metaphor. Youtube is like the mutant city that lies just beneath the sidewalks. It’s the place that feeds off the Subway remnants you drop down the drain. Malnourished, deformed people gather there and decide to broadcast their opinions and talents to the world, and occasionally the faint whiff of cabbage and disappointment rises up through the sewer system and invades your nostrils. You gag a little.
