‘Project Nim’ is the newly released documentary from director James Marsh (Man on Wire).  The film takes an engrossing look at how a group of Hippie scientists from the early 70’s embarked on a half-assed social experiment to turn a Chimpanzee (Nim) into a sign language communicating, pot smoking, face-eating, psuedo love child.

Which begs the question: Just who are the greatest party animals found in cinema of years past? This top 5 list should quench that burning curiosity that engulfs the minds of cinephiles everywhere. WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!  Then again, these films are over 30 years old, so you had your chance.

3 Things The World's Newest Country Hasn't Got Round To Yet

Welcome to the world South Sudan! The country became the world’s newest on July 9 with street parties and celebrations. It had been the culmination of a long period of negotiations (an agreement for the creation of the country was signed five years ago) and an even longer and bloodier period of civil war and in-fighting.

It was a good news story all around.

Except that despite all the time they had to get their stuff together, they neglected to sort out a few things:

7 Life Lessons From The Simpsons

They’re not known as America’s favorite family for nothing, you know. The Simpsons were once castigated for being un-American: George HW Bush told the Republican National Convention in 1992 that “we’re going to keep trying to strengthen the American family. To make them more like the Waltons and less like the Simpsons.”

However, everyone knows now, with the benefit of hindsight, that the Fox animated show has some valuable life lessons for people to learn. Here are seven of the best things that Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie have taught us over the years:

7. Bitches Be Crazy

The above picture tells it all. Homer has gathered Bart, and is teaching him the ways of the world. The main lesson? Rule numero uno? Women are always right. Amen to that.

Everything is a Competition

Did you know there was a world competition for facial-hair? I’m not just talking about the macho-man contests you and your friends have to see who can produce the best looking beard as an excuse to avoid shaving for a couple of weeks. This is real, and America brought home the gold.

Look at those lucious locks.

26 -year-old Washington native, Burke Kenny is the world champion in the ‘best full beard with styled moustache’ category. Kenny began sporting a moustache when he was 19 and started growing a beard at age 20.

The Craziest Hotels Around The World

Everyone is always looking for somewhere new and exciting for their next and latest holiday, and even if you try and think outside the box the chances are you will never think so far out that you find these places!!

Most people just want somewhere to stay that is cheap, friendly and the bed sheets aren’t stained! But if you fancy a holiday that will completely blow your mind, then you need to get yourself booked into a room at one of these crazy places.

Snow Village Hotel – Finland

Now this place really is crazy! Stay overnight here in a hotel built from entirely of snow and ice. Because of the great insulating properties of snow the room temperate will stay between -2 to -5 Celcius. (Pheww and there’s me thinking I might be a little chilly if I stayed here!) How the hell do you keep warm in this oplace you might be asking, well don’t worry they provide you with high quality sleeping bags, so you’ll be fine. Not sure about your head though that will probably still be cold, maybe a balaclava is the answer here. If you do decide to stay here and are literally freezing in the night then there is two ‘warm bedrooms’ in the hotel for the wimps out there, but I don’t think you will get your diploma of ‘igloo overnight stay’ sorry.

Why Scavenger Hunts Make Crazy Awesome First Dates

We’ve all been there before. It’s hard to come up with refreshing and new date ides. Luckily this little nugget of awesome advice will get you out of that jam.

Scavenger hunts – What’s more fun than getting a list of mysterious objects to find and going to great lengths to find them? Get a list or make your own while making your date your partner in crime. The crime is, of course, being too awesome to be single for much longer!

"It's no good. These are new and the list calls for finding a used one."

The pros:

  • If you’re the type of person that likes to multi-task, you can force your date to help you buy groceries, all in the name of fun.
  • It’s an excuse to try new things. Always wanted to kidnap a monkey but were too shy to do it on your own? Put it on the list. If your date thinks there’s something weird on the list, you can just blame it on the list. The scavenger hunt list can even be used to see if your date is into the same True Blood fetishes that are into.
  • It can be for charity. And if you know how to Photoshop something that looks like a Red Cross logo and make some letterhead, then it totally is.

The cons:

  • There’s always the risk of bodily injury or committing a felony, depending on the difficulty of the list. That would be a bad thing, unless you’re into that.
  • If your date has superior Photoshop skills and can recognize your forgery, it could cause a commotion, leading to an epic Photoshop duel between the two of you, thus, rendering you both to be each other’s mortal enemy.
