The world is filled up with lot of peculiarities and transparent animals are one of the most beautiful and distinct creatures. Transparency feature does not only allow to escape from the predators, but also to preserve their valuable resources. The transparent skin is due to lack of pigmentation on their body.
Commonly called as Phronima, has been found in theNorth Atlantic’s deep sea mountain ranges. This small shrimp like animal is completely transparent for hiding itself in the foggy surroundings.
Glasswings or Clearwings (GretaOto) are the butterflies with transparent wings, mainly found in theCentral America; the absence of scales on the wings gives a glass like appearance to the wings.
These delicate looking Glass squids are internally very robustly built and closely resemble a hand blown glass. The cigar shaped liver is the only pigmented part and it can grow up to the size of 9.8 feet.
Glass frogs belong to the family Centrolenidae, having lime green background coloration. The different organs such as the liver, heart and digestive tract can be seen through the translucent skin.
These are deep sea dwelling creatures from the Cnidaria family, can range up to the size of 2.5 centimeters in length and are sometimes completely invisible due to their transparent skin.
By appearance it looks like a jellyfish and it feeds on the marine algae. It is barrel shaped in structure, almost transparent with the varying length of one to 10 centimeters.

This “troglobite” animal is found in the deep caves ofNorth Americaand has almost transparent chitinous exoskeleton or skin. They have neither eyes nor pigmentation and can survive in the dark conditions only.

Sea cucumbers are soft bodied bottom dwellers that can easily elude the predators with its transparency. They are mostly found in the depth of Gulf of Mexicowhere light cannot penetrate.
Transparent Head Fish
This unusual deep sea dwelling creature has fluid filled shield on the head; the tubular eyes are covered with bright green lens, which are extremely sensible and can rotate in all the directions.
